Training Programs

Following is a brief description of the classes we offer. In all of our classes, we balance the physical side of Tae Kwon Do, the blocking, punching, and kicking, with the mental aspects by teaching the Tenets of Tae Kwon Do;
Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

Li'l Dragons (ages 4-6)

For this age group, our program is geared towards building greater motor skills and self-esteem by introducing the concept of martial arts. Motor skills are developed with simple, exciting activities that encourage basic physical skills like coordination, balance, and flexibility. Self-esteem is enhanced by the use of goal setting, with the combination of quick, easy, short-term goals, as well as long-term harder goals. Our program helps instill the “I can do it” attitude in each child. Children in this age group thrive in a structured environment where they are encouraged to do their best in a fun and positive atmosphere, and they can learn about respect, discipline, focus, and still have FUN!

Children (ages 6-9)

This age group is sensitive to criticism and may have difficulty handling failure. Our programs concentrate on helping each student increase his or her focus, respect, and self-confidence. Many of the social issues that begin with this age group are addressed in class such as how to confront a bully with a confident attitude, how to treat others with respect, and how resist peer pressure. Aggressive children have a safe outlet for their behavior while learning self-control. Timid or shy children are given an opportunity to be more assertive and develop self-confidence. Progress is tracked with written progress reports as well as on-going communication with the academy owner.

Youth (ages 9-15)

For this age group we focus on the student’s self-control, self-respect, and goal setting. Students are taught how to say no to peer pressure, and how to become self disciplined by setting and achieving high goals for themselves, while overcoming obstacles. We work hard on developing fine motor skill with an emphasis on timing, reflex, and coordination through a series of increasingly difficult and complex drills. Training is designed to assist your child with his or her personal growth and to reach their full potential. Progress is tracked with written progress reports as well as on going communication with the academy owner.

Adult (ages 17 and older)

This program is designed to help older students, both those new to the marital arts as well as those with years of training. Increasing fitness, flexibility, and knowledge of self-defense through the discipline in martial arts is a main goal for this age group. Training programs are designed to reduce muscle and joint stiffness for the new beginners, while the more advanced students are pushed to reach their full potential. Our programs are a great way to relieve stress, achieve a high level of fitness, and increase your overall feeling of well being.

Special Needs

Medical studies have shown that children diagnosed with special needs should not be treated with drugs only. Behavioral management techniques and learning skills must be included for a successful treatment. If recognized and managed, most children with special needs can be taught to use their differences (creativity, spontaneity, tenacity, and hyper-focus) to their advantage. Our programs have proven to be very successful with helping children increase their focus, self-discipline, and self-control. Children in our programs learn how to control themselves physically as well as mentally, and see improvement in all aspects of their lives.
