MANKATO MARTIAL ARTS RULES AND REGULATIONS

IT SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE MEMBERS THAT THE PURPOSE OF THESE RULES IS PRIMARILY TO ENSURE MAXIMUM BENEFIT FROM THE STUDY OF TAE KWON DO. MOST OF THE RULES HAVE BEEN PART OF TAE KWON DO FROM ITS INCEPTION.
  1. Bow to the FLAGS and INSTRUCTOR(S) when entering and leaving the Academy.
  2. Remove shoes before stepping out onto the training area.
  3. Do not enter class late or leave early without the permission of the instructor.
  4. Students shall bow before speaking to INSTRUCTOR(S) and shall address him or her as Sir or Mr._______, Ma'am, Ms. or Mrs._______.
  5. Assume the position of attention while speaking to your INSTRUCTOR or any other Black Bel holder, also use words of consideration while speaking; such as, YES SIR, NO SIR, PARDON ME SIR, etc
  6. Conduct such as the use of profanity, obscene gestures, or actions, and unnecessary roughness toward another student is prohibited.
  7. Students are expected to be courteous and understanding. They are also expected to help fellow students whenever possible.
  8. Loud conversation, laughing, or giggling, and chewing gum have no place in Tae Kwon Do training.
  9. Personal hygiene is your RESPONSIBILITY. Clean uniform, trimmed nails, etc.
  10. Any substitute teacher shall be treated as you would your INSTRUCTOR.
  11. Do not hold a demonstration or teach Tae Kwon Do without the approval of the Academy.
  12. Do not engage in any activities that might degrade the code of Tae Kwon Do ethics or the reputation of the Academy.
  13. You must have the approval of the school for any tournament competition. The school will be grateful and proud to display any trophies its students win in open competition.
  14. No unauthorized sparring is permitted. You must have the instructor's permission and supervision. All students have the right to decline to participate in sparring sessions.
  15. All equipment must be purchased at the school.
  16. Do not participate in any activities held by a school or club other than Mankato Martial Arts and affiliated clubs without permission of the INSTRUCTOR.
  17. Always set a good example for lower ranking belt students. It is only natural they will attempt to emulate senior students. Give 100% effort 100% of the time.
  18. Always be loyal and never criticize the instructor, Tae Kwon Do or the teaching methods.
  19. Remember that a student's conduct outside the school reflects the art and INSTRUCTOR.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE ABOVE REGULATIONS. PENALTIES WILL VARY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ACADEMY, SUCH AS; DEMOTION OF RANK, SUSPENSION OR EVEN TERMINATION OF TRAINING.
